I have always wanted a Kohler for their beauty and style, but for a long time, their flushing technology wasn't the best, so I didn't buy. TOTO toilets are fabulous and I wanted one for their power flush, but didn't want to pay $400 for a Japanese toilet. Then Kohler came out with the Class 6 flush. This toilet is perfect in so many ways: it is beautiful, stylish, easy to install with quick and super-effective flush - uses a surprisingly small amount of water - completely cleans the bowl (and needs cleaning less often as a result) and takes MUCH less water than my old toilet! I mean, how often can you say all of that about one thing?! It came as a package, toilet, seat, waxring, bolts and washers in the box. One washer was missing which sent me to the hardware store, otherwise was a simple install. Life must be getting pretty crazy that something this simple... I replaced a 10 year old builder-grade toilet with this Kohler class 6 model after reading the positive reviews in consumer reports and online. Boy was everyone telling the truth! Our old toilet took 3 flushes each time to clear the bowl (and clogged nearly every time). After two months of service, this toilet has never clogged and clears the bowl with a laughably small amount of water. It's remarkable. One small downside is that this toilet produces a very loud flush. It only lasts about one second but the sound is quite a bit louder than our older toilet. Neither my wife or I mind. I don't really care for the comfort height but my wife LOVES it. Installation was a breeze. Another of my lousy builder-grade toilets clogged and flooded our bathroom this week; I bought a second Kohler class 6 to replace it. This time I bought the toilet from Amazon so I will comment on the buying... Those extra two inches of height make all the difference in the world. Surprisingly powerful at only 1.6 gallons per flush. I was a little skeptical about the 1.6 gallon thing, coming from a loud, long-filling water-hog last-century model, but this is quick, quiet, fast-filling, powerful. Used to have to flush several times with the old one to make everything "go away." With the Kohler, one flush and you're done, so to speak. No extras floating around (bits of toilet tissue or "other" debris). Possibly not the best choice for a very small bathroom because of the elongated design, but for the comfort and efficiency, small price to pay for those few extra inches. Nice looking piece with the small tank. Easy to get behind and clean. The old tank was so large and close to the wall that cleaning behind it was impossible without improvising and contortions.
